Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11, Staten Island-Southern Brooklyn) was endorsed for a fourth term in Congress by the Uniformed Fire Officer Association (UFOA) of the FDNY.
The UFOA represents over 5,000 active and retired FDNY Lieutenants, Captains, Battalion Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, and Chief Medical Officers.
In their endorsement, the UFOA wrote, “Following a thorough evaluation, we are confident that you stand out as the candidate who most deeply understands the needs of New York’s fire officers. You have consistently advocated for our members and organization. Your work to help fund the WTC Health Program, No Tax on Overtime, and increasing the SALT deduction cap has significantly impacted our members.
“The UFOA looks forward to continuing our collaborative relationship on the critical issues impacting our membership. Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I want to thank the members of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association for their endorsement. The 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11 is a stark reminder of the dangers the FDNY face daily and the losses the UFOA faced in the wake of the attacks.
“I was proud to have secured over $9 million for FDNY in both Staten Island and Brooklyn, including $5 million that will be used to develop a training facility in our district, so our first responders have the skills they need to save lives.
“I will always be a vocal advocate for the funding, training and resources they need to do their job. In addition, I will continue my mission to ensure that 9/11 first responders and survivors have the coverage and care they need and deserve from the World Trade Center Health Center.”
