Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11, Staten Island-Southern Brooklyn) was endorsed for a fourth term in Congress by the Port Authority Sergeants Benevolent Association (PASBA) and the Retired Sergeants Association of the NYPD (RSANYPD).
The PASBA represents over 800 active and retired members of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department. The RSANYPD represents 4,000 retired members of the NYPD.
PASBA President Robert Zafonte, Jr. wrote, “ As a law enforcement organization, we have seen firsthand the impact that a supportive and understanding political leader can have on our ability to effectively serve and protect the public. Your willingness to listen to our concerns, address our needs, and provide the necessary resources to ensure our success is a testament to your leadership and commitment to public safety.
“As a member of the Port Authority Police Department, I can attest to the challenges we face in maintaining the safety and security of our airports, bridges, terminals, and tunnels. Your commitment to supporting law enforcement and public safety is crucial in addressing these challenges and ensuring the continued success of our agency.
“The SBA is proud to endorse your candidacy and look forward to working with you to ensure the continued safety and security of our communities.”
RSANYPD President Robert V. Cotumaccio wrote, “We are supporting you because you have demonstrated your concern and commitment to the well-being of public service retirees and for the safety and security of the citizens of New York.
“We wish you success in your bid for re-election and will provide any support necessary to help you achieve your goals on behalf of the people you represent.”
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I’d like to thank the men and women of the PASBA and President Robert Zafonte, Jr., for their kind words of the support. The work they do protecting our airports, ports, mass transit, bridges, and tunnels ensures the safety of our citizens and the security of commerce in the New York metropolitan area.
“I will always be a vocal advocate for the funding, training and resources they need to do their job. In addition, I will continue my mission to ensure that 9/11 first responders and survivors have the coverage and care they need and deserve from the World Trade Center Health Center.
“I’d also like to thank the men and women of the RSANYPD and President Robert V. Cotumaccio for their service to New York City and for their endorsement of my campaign for re-election. I will always speak-out in support of the benefits they have earned, including the coverage and care of the World Trade Center Health Center.”
