Malliotakis Endorsed by FDNY EMTs, Paramedics and Fire Inspectors
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11, Staten Island-Southern Brooklyn) received the endorsement of the Uniformed EMT’s, Paramedics and Fire Inspectors (UEPFI), Local 2507-FDNY. The union represents over 3,000 men and women who are the crews of FDNY ambulances and the Fire Inspectors who makes sure that commercial, residential, and public spaces are safe for all New Yorkers.
Michael Greco, President of the Uniformed EMT’s, Paramedics and Fire Inspectors said, “Your experience and concern for public safety, public safety professionals, working families, our education system, and the economy, have certainly been major assets to the people of New York’s 11th Congressional District.
“Now more than ever, it is important that we elect individuals who will protect the economy and growth of New York as well as remember the working people who live here.
“They say that all politics are local. Most politicians lose sight of that factor after being elected. We are confident that you will never forget the people who elected you and will and will always fight to protect and enhance the interests of people in your district and all of New York”
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I’d like to thank President Michael Greco and all the members of Local 2507 for their kind endorsement. These are the men and women of the FDNY who respond when medical emergencies strike; whether it’s a senior citizen on Staten Island who fell in the middle of the night or a mass injury event in a Manhattan office building and the FDNY Fire Inspectors who work to ensure that tragedies don’t take place in commercial, residential, and public spaces throughout our city.
“I was proud to have secured over $9 million for FDNY in both Staten Island and Brooklyn, including $5 million that will be used to develop a facility in our district that will be used for EMS classroom training, so our first responders have the skills they need to save lives. I will always be a vocal advocate for the funding, training and resources they need to do their job.
“In addition, I will continue my mission to ensure that 9/11 first responders and survivors have the coverage and care they need and deserve from the World Trade Center Health Center.”
