PBA’s Patrick Hendry: It would be an honor to have her representing us in Congress.
Nicole for New York, the campaign of Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11, Staten Island-SW Brooklyn), announced today that the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (NYC PBA) has endorsed Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ bid for a third term.
The NYC PBA is the largest municipal police union in the world, representing the approximately 24,000 men and women who hold the rank of NYPD Police Officer.
In the endorsement, PBA President Patrick Hendry said, “Congresswoman Malliotakis’ commitment to addressing the issues affecting New York City police officers is well recognized, and it would be an honor to have her representing us in Congress. We look forward to working with her towards our shared goal of a stronger, safer New York.”
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I want to thank PBA President Patrick Hendry for his kind words, and the men and women of the PBA for their endorsement and support. The members of New York City’s PBA are the first line in fighting crime in our neighborhoods and keeping New Yorkers safe. They are the brave individuals who respond when we call 911; facing the dangers that are the everyday hazard of police work in America’s largest city. They are the same dedicated professionals that also comfort the elderly while waiting for EMS or return a lost child to their parents.
“Unlike many New York City elected officials who try to defund the NYPD, I have stood firmly behind full funding for the force. Since taking office in 2021, I have worked diligently to deliver over $8 million in federal funds to the NYPD, including $1 million for new police cruisers, $2 million for new forensic equipment, $350,000 for new K-9 units and training, $550,000 for protective equipment and nearly $1 million for non-lethal equipment. Our men and women in blue deserve our respect, support and the resources and tools to do their job and keep us safe.”
The NYC PBA also endorsed Nicole Malliotakis in her two previous campaigns for Congress.
