Representative Nicole Malliotakis was endorsed today for a fourth term in Congress by the New York City Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association (USA), Local 831 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Local 831 represents over 15,000 active and retired members of the NYC Sanitation Department.
The endorsement took place at Malliotakis campaign headquarters in Staten Island, where the Congresswoman was surrounded at the podium by USA President Dennis Schock along with union officers, trustees and members.
USA-Local 831 President Dennis Schock said, “As New York City’s only Republican in the Congress, you are a trail blazer and a model for your community. In the U.S. House of Representatives, you continued your hard work to deliver for Staten Island and New York City as a whole, including supporting the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Protect America’s Workforce Act, and serving on the Committee on Ways and Means. You are also a co-sponsor of the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which has been a priority piece of legislation for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Your focus on quality-of-life issues and supporting the city’s uniformed services plays a crucial role in providing a better life for the people of New York.
“We know firsthand of your efforts to help our members get their work done from Tottenville to Bensonhurst. Your work in Washington, D.C. has shown your dedication to our City and our State. We have witnessed your commitment to the people you are serving and to our members.
“Your work in Congress is the reason the men and women of the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, Local 831, IBT are proud to stand with you in your efforts to represent the people of New York’s 11th Congressional District.”
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I’d like to thank the men and women of the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association-Local 831 and its President Dennis Schock for their kind words and endorsement. Sanitation Department workers were the unsung heroes of the summer of 2026. Whether it’s the Knicks championship, World Cup festivities, the 250th celebration of the United States, or a host of other events, they’re working hard to keep our city clean for all New Yorkers and the millions of tourists. They have a tough job working in all types of conditions; ranging from blazing heat to freezing cold, 365 days a year.
“I was proud to co-sponsor the Faster Labor Contracts Act and to support supporting the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Protect America’s Workforce Act. I will always be a vocal advocate for the funding, training and resources they need to do their job. In addition, I will continue my mission to ensure that 9/11 first responders and survivors have the coverage and care they need and deserve from the World Trade Center Health Center. Once again, thank you for your support.”
