Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, the real Republican in the race for Mayor, today called on Ann Coulter, the conservative author and commentator, to apologize for a recent tweet where she praised the French police and called the NYPD “little girls”.

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis said, “I am outraged that Ann Coulter would insult the brave men and women of the NYPD by referring to them in a tweet as “little girls.” The New York City Police Department is the best in the world and Ann Coulter should know that.

“It is unconscionable that she would degrade those who put their lives on the line every day to keep our city and its residents safe. The death toll continues to climb for the NYPD and other first responders who have contracted cancer, respiratory ailments and other health problems due to their heroic response to the cowardly attacks of 9/11.

“Let us also not forget the fate of NYPD Officer Dalsh Veve who lies in a medically induced coma after being dragged 2 ½ blocks through the streets by the driver of a stolen car.

“Ann Coulter should be ashamed of herself and should apologize to our law enforcement and to all New Yorkers for her lack of judgment and lack of respect.”
